Bulgaria has adopted a law on the introduction of the euro.

Prices for goods and services will be indicated in both leva and euro from the first month after the decision to switch to the euro and for a year after its introduction in Bulgaria.
The law stipulates that from the day of the introduction of the euro, account holders can withdraw only euros from them, regardless of whether the withdrawal is made through an ATM or at a bank office, payment institution, etc. From the same date, it is planned that the payment of salaries, pensions, benefits, cash and social benefits will be made in euros.
The indicative date of the transition to the euro is July 1, 2025.
